For the third year in a row, we’ve been invited to perform for this wonderful concert celebrating the Negro Spiritual, hosted by the New Arts Cultural Society, Inc. (NACSI)! We’ll perform three songs, including one we just learned this year.
We are honored to perform at the same free public concert at the historic Galilee Missionary Baptist Church as these wonderful choirs from all over the region:
- Oak Park Microsociety Elementary School Choir under the direction of John Collins (Shreveport, LA)
- Youree Drive Middle School Spartans Chorale under the direction of Jewett Winston (Shreveport, LA)
- New Dimensions Youth Chorale under the direction of Julie Lester (subsidiary of NACSI)
- Jarvis Christian College under the direction of Bruce Alvin Thompson (Hawkins, TX)
- Grambling State University Concert Choir under the direction of Natorshau Davis (Grambling, LA)
- Southern University Concert Choir (Baton Rouge, LA)
- River Cities Jubilee Chorus under the direction of Wendell Glass (that’s us!)
- Heritage under the diretion of Clarence Jones (Baton Rouge, LA)
- St. Luke “Community” U.M.C. — Dallas Church Choir, under the direction of Dr. Beverly Chinn
- South Dallas Concert Choir under the direction of Alfreylynn J. Roberts (Dallas, TX)
- A Capella Choir of Wiley College under the direction of Stephen L. Hayes (Marshal, TX)
- And the hosts, the New Dimensions Choral Society under the direction of Patricia Britton-Hall (subsidiary of NACSI)!
